We have 1 very lovable pyr named Bandit who we would like to find a new home for
unfortunatly. He is a reg. pyr and 3 years old and lives on a farm. He loves our family
and our animals. He has become very teritorial and does not like people riding bikes by
our farm. He needs to go to a home where he can guard animals. We hate to get rid of him
but have no choice. If you could be assistance please contact us by E-mail. Thanks!

Pyrs : no, but researched them and am hoping to aquire one within the next year I have
been trying to find a Pyr breeder close to North Carolina for some time now. I want to
find one close so I can visit the breeder often. I have done much research on Pyrs and am
now learning the "Temperament Test" to properly pick my puppy. Any feedback from
Pyr owners is appreciated.
I have really enjoyed your site and marked it as a favorite for future reference, in
aquiring my Pyr.

We are animal lovers and the great pyrenees sounds like the ideal dog for us. We have seen
the badger markings and like them. Can you help us locate a breeder?

I have owned a number of dogs in my life (40 years) but never have i enjoyed a dog as much
as my pyrenees named "Lilly". She is a moderate small femal (about 85lbs). She
is just a wonderful friend. She is kind and warm, gentle and has a great disposition. She
greats us at the door each day with her big wet smile. She lays at our feet whenever we
are seated.
She is just a great dog!

One day this summer one of my sons came zooming up the driveway on his bike screaming that
two German Shepards has attacked him when he was pedaling past their yard. He relayed to
that QD had gotten between him and the shepaerd. He said the last he had seen of her, she
was on the road with the sheperds on top of her. I immediately got my gun either to shoot
the sheperds or my Pyr if she was badly injured. Just as I was getting into my truck to
leave, QD came into sight. She was covered with blood, but upon closer examination we
discovered she was not injured at all. Her thick coat had protected her, while both
sheperds were taken to a local vet for stitches. All she wanted for her couageous act was
a pat on the head and a soothing "well done, QD, well done. Now when we are out of
the boys are out, we no longer if her instinct to guard and protect has been tainted by
her role as a family pet!

Pyrs Pyr/yellow lab
I recently went to visit my local humane society to try and find a "family dog".
While I was there I saw a huge white dog with the warmest brown eyes I'd ever seen. I
asked to director what kind of dog it was and found that it was a Pyr/ yellow lab mix. I
decided that he was the dog for me. I wanted a big dog and he was only a little more than
halfway grown. I wa a bit worried on how he would get along with my other dog and cat but
he took to them just find. In fact, they became fast friends. I couldn't be happier with
Ben, he's perfect.

Pyrs Yes- One male named Hercules
After my shepard/collie male (named Shorty) passed away at the age of 11 in Sept 96 I was
devestated. I was blessed to have Hercules join our family March 1'97 . He is 10 months
old now and is the joy of my life. He has helped me overcome the grief of lossing Shorty.
Herky (as we call him) is so gentle and sweet, I don't even realize how big he really is.
When I come home from work the greating I receive from Herky can wipe away anything that
bothered me at work. He is truely my baby and I can't believe how fortunate I was to find
him. Even our 13 year old cat enjoys playing with Hercules. I would never think about not
having a Pry in my life. Herky has truely been living up to his title of "Gentle
Giant" and he is my consent companian.(In fact, as I write this he is laying by my
feet sleeping so peacefully but always ready to jump into bed when everyone is ready to go
to sleep).
So to each of you...from myself and from Herky thanks for reading this.

We call our Pyr "Gypsy" because she just appeared one night and stole our
hearts. Before her arrival I didnt know a Pyr from a beagle, but THIS dog was obviously
special. A neighbor identified the breed, and I contacted a local Pyr rescue group who
taught me every thing I need to know to give her the home and life she deserves. (And gave
her a great "makeover"!) I have made the right decision in keeping her, she is a
joy, and I am now a lifetime Pyr fanatic.

Kristin and Navar King of Guards and Isaibo I haven't decided her full nay but I would
never dream of hitting her. Instead I take her head in my hands and I talk to her and tell
her that she must listen. I never sthought I would ever care so much for a dog but she is
just as sweet as can be. She is the most loving creature I have ever seen and no matter
how angry I would be I could never do anything to destroy that love that she has for us.
We certainly have been blessed to have her share of lives. Oh yes, her name is MORNING

This is a wonderfully organized site! I have a ten year old Pyr who has always been
physicaly fit and in good health. He was recently diagnosed with a severely enlarged heart
and I wondered if anyone else has had experiance helping their pet to cope with this
condition? Our vet has him on Furosemide(a diuretic)to keep fluid from accumulating fluid
in his lungs. Any other long term treatment would be very costly. He has been an
incredible addition to our family over the years, always patient and loving (but
definitely a mind of his own).
